Soul Care for Compassionate Listeners - Beginning October, 2010

I would like to invite those of you in the Seattle area to consider joining one of the monthly expressive arts/supervision groups I am facilitating again from October to June with my wonderful colleague, Christine Valters Paintner, PhD, REACE.

Soul Care for Compassionate Listeners is for therapists, spiritual directors, chaplains, pastors - anyone who is committed to compassionate listening and the care of souls.  The group meets monthly on Fridays (our Tuesday group and another Friday group are now full).  It is a time to gather with a safe and intimate group of peers, focus on places for personal and professional growth, and engage in gentle and accessible expressive arts experiences which open you to intuitive and embodied wisdom.

This is the third year we are offering such a group and it is truly one of the great delights of my work to accompany people working in listening professions to greater self-awareness and deepened compassion.  Consider giving yourself this gift of time dedicated to your own process and inner work.

October 2010-June 2011  - Monthly group meets Friday Mornings (Capitol Hill, Seattle, WA)

limited space available in 3 different date sets

9:30a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Tuesday or Friday space available beginning as early as October 12.
Limited to 6 participants in each group

Commitment to all 8 sessions required

Cost: $600 for all 8 sessions / $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your place

Each Session Includes:

  • time for individual focus and group support.
  • an opportunity to reflect on specific professional encounters through contemplative reflection to become aware of what was stirred in you and spark inner growth and deepened self-awareness.
  • a gentle and accessible expressive arts experience to help you access the wisdom of your emotions, intuition, and body knowledge.
  • Space for self-care with others who share similar struggles and longings.

Teaching Partner, Christine Valters Paintner, PhD, REACE is a writer, teacher, artist, spiritual director, and supervisor who earned her doctorate in Christian Spirituality from the Graduate Theological Union and professional certification as a Registered Expressive Arts Consultant and Educator. She is an Adjunct Faculty member at the School of Theology and Ministry and has been serving in retreat work and spiritual direction for sixteen years. Christine has a passion for helping those in pastoral ministry learn ways to nurture themselves more deeply so that they can more effectively and compassionately minister to others.
